The Choir at All Saints’ is a mixed-voice group of adult singers, which sings at the 10.00 a.m. communion service on the second and fourth Sundays of the month (and on the fifth Sunday if there is one), and at various special services such as the Patronal Festival Evensong, the Christmas Nine Lessons and Carols, the Choral Meditation on the Passion, and occasional joint services with St Nicolas’ Church and the United Reformed Church in Guildford.
The choir is always keen to expand and so welcomes committed new singers at any time – just come along to a rehearsal and see where it takes you!
The choir sings a broad range of music from the Anglican choral tradition and beyond, from Tallis to Rutter, Purcell to Tchaikovsky, Pitoni to Fauré. Rehearsals, which take place in church on Thursday evenings at 8.00 p.m.- 9.00 p.m. (except on the Thursday before the first Sunday of the month), combine choral training with learning and enjoying music, new and old.
The choir is available to sing for weddings, baptisms, funerals and other special services held in All Saints’ Church. Please contact the office for further information.
The choir operates a Choral Scholar scheme for students in conjunction with the University. For more information, please contact the Choir Director, Jeremy Barham at: j.barham@surrey.ac.uk.
