Window replacement Project
We are excited to announce the next stage of our Windows replacement project. As you may already be aware we have now raised the amount needed to replace 13 windows and one door around the church as part of celebrating 50 years in our current building. We are hoping that this will make a considerable difference to the overall appearance and warmth within our church.
As we move to the installation process we would ask for your prayers that this next part goes smoothly and with least disruption as possible to our normal pattern of worship and use of the church. But inevitably whilst change takes place there will be some disruption to enable the work to take place.
The most major of which is the closure of the car park from Tuesday, 8th November until the work on installing the windows is finished, which if all goes to plan we expect should be by Saturday, 18th November. This is to allow plenty of space for three pallets of windows, a skip and the installers’ van. These will be sited in front of the church because they (and the delivery vehicle) will not be suitable for the car park which does not have suitable foundations for heavy loads. Please bear with us for these few days and make alternative arrangements for parking such as in Curling Vale or nearby friends’ drives…. If anyone has a particular difficulty please contact me and we will try to assist with alternative arrangements. (Please be considerate and do not use the turning circle at the end of Vicarage Gate for parking – several people apparently have had tickets recently for so doing!).
Although we will try to keep the church itself open for our usual Sunday morning services and evening events whilst the work takes place, this will not be possible for morning prayers and Thursday morning communion. Please check notices on the weekly newssheet, website etc with respect to location of these events and any others which take place within the church especially during the week commencing Monday, 13th November. Alternative arrangements will be made with respect to these.
Finally please could you consider giving us some assistance on Saturday, 11th November whilst we pack up various items, move furniture and cover stuff with dustsheets, or on the following Saturday (18th) when we plan to clean up and replace stuff moved. We also have a need for two tarpaulins – please let me know if you could loan us some.
Many thanks for your support and assistance at this busy and exciting time.
