Dear Friends

It is a real privilege to be part of our thriving and lively Sunday Club. We have 4 groups, each group’s session is prepared and led by 2 team helpers.

First, to All Saints’ as a whole – we are deeply grateful for and upheld by your prayerful support and encouragement. Please spare a thought, however, that it is a real challenge to keep Twinklers twinkling and Sparklers sparkling much after 11.15 on a Sunday morning...So to the future – I hope it will continue to flourish and new helpers continue to join the team. Perhaps we can liaise better so that when we have a variation of 10am service or visiting speakers (eg about Water Aid recently and Street Angels) we can plan in advance and encourage our Quest group to come into church. Perhaps also we can somehow link with the Youth Group. This requires forward thinking, particularly on my part...

Secondly, to the team – whether you are a leader or are more at ease in a helping role, you are an inspiration; enthusiastic, full of fun and ideas and willing to commit your time to our young people. Every member of the team brings something unique – different gifts and skills, and I pray that we will continue to recognize and encourage each other in our different strengths and at the same time accept and support each other in our shortcomings. As each 2 helpers meet each week to prepare the SC session, may it also be a time of prayer and fellowship.

Thirdly to the children – SC is a happy place to be because you make it so; you bring freshness, laughter, innocence and honesty when we older ones are inclined to fret about our lack of preparation, or worry about whether we’ve got enough to keep you occupied. We have as much to learn from you as you from us and as you learn to respect the quietness and solemn times in church that are so precious to us older ones, so may we learn to be understanding and not disapproving and learn again to see things through your unclouded eyes.

More than ever our young people need encouragement and nurture in their faith in God so they can meet challenges and difficult times assured of God’s love and strength to support them.
